Cinematic design
The secret power behind the films
Specific techniques must be implemented to create a truly cinematic wedding video. That’s why I design all my films using the same cinematic techniques developed and refined over the years by master award-winning filmmakers. These are proven techniques that give your story the emotional depth it deserves.

Story structure
Story structure is the emotional backbone of your film. It gives your film more meaning (beyond just looking good), and it’s the key in building powerful emotional moments.
Three Acts
The same technique master storytellers have been using to draw emotion in almost every movie, show, book and play is applied to your film.
Scenes
Dedicating time to film a “scene” allows me to tell your story with cinematic shot sequences, making your film deeply meaningful and more cinematic.
Storyboards
I plan the shots of your scene ahead of time based on your story. This way they have more meaning and real purpose beyond just looking good.
Sound design
Sound design adds depth to your film. It helps to guide your story, and allows you to feel the film as much as you see it.
Narration
Handpicked moments from your vows, love notes or ceremony are strategically placed as the guiding force of your story.
Textures
Layers of sounds, like leaves falling to the ground or old wood creaking beneath your feet, utilize more of your senses so you feel like you’re back in the moment.
Compositions (Not Music)
Setting your story to cinematic compositions (instead of music) creates more powerful emotional moments and gives your story a truly timeless quality.
Cinematography
Far beyond point and shoot, I film using the same professional techniques, guidelines and rules that Academy Award-winning cinematographers and colorists use, so your story looks as amazing as it feels.
Cinema Style
By using non-telephoto lenses, a shallow depth of field, and a Hollywood frame rate, your film looks like a real film (not like a video).
Sequences
Just like real movies, every shot has a purpose. I use a series of wide, medium and close-up shots in scenes to recreate your magical memories.
Color Grading
This is the polish at the end of the edit. Since I use a cinematic color profile, I can make sure you and the environment look their best.
